Heather L. Apicella is the Principal Shareholder with the law firm of Apicella Law Group, P.A. MS. APICELLA is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Marital and Family Law and a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. She is a member of the Family Law Section of The Florida Bar, Palm Beach County Bar Association, South Palm Beach County Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association, and South Palm Beach County Collaborative Law Group concentrating her practice in the area of Family Law.

Ms. Apicella is a past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar. In 2018 she was elected to the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section, and she served as the Secretary from 2018-2019; Treasurer from 2019-2020; the Chair-Elect from 2020-2021; Chair from 2021-2022; and ultimately as immediate past chair from 2022-2023. She served on the Executive Council from 2009 until her appointment on the Executive Committee. She is currently a trustee of the Family Law Section.

Ms. Apicella has been very active in the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, she is a past Chair of the Finance Committee, past Chair of the Legislation Committee, past Chair of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee, past Chair of the Support Issues Committee and past Chair of the Long-Range planning committee. She also served as one of four members of the Marital & Family Law Review Course Committee, which is an appointed position that she Chaired in 2019-2020.

Prior to her service to the State Bar, Ms. Apicella was very active in the Broward County Bar Association. She is the past Chair of the Family Law Section of the Broward County Bar Association. During her term she was awarded the Practice Section Chair Award in recognition of her leadership and guidance as The Chair of The Family Law Section.

Ms. Apicella served on the board of directors of the Unicorn Children’s Foundation. The Unicorn Foundation “is dedicated to building lifelong pathways for individuals with developmental differences, from birth to success, while supporting their families on this complex journey.”

Ms. Apicella was recently named a “2026 Best Lawyer” by the Best Lawyers in America, which is a recognition she has held since 2018. She was also recognized as a “2025 Super Lawyer” by Florida Super Lawyers, which she has held since 2020. Ms. Apicella was named in the 2024 edition of Law Dragon as one of “500 Leading Family Lawyers” in the United States of America. She was also honored by Florida Trend’s Legal Elite. She was named a 2022 Top Up and Comer by South Florida Legal Guide, which is a recognition she has held for the five years. Ms. Apicella was selected by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel as the Nation’s Top One Percent.
